The Group & Events Sales Executive is responsible for ensuring that group bookings, meetings, and events are executed seamlessly, from the initial inquiry through to post-event follow-up. The role focuses on maximizing occupancy, optimizing average room rates, and cultivating client relationships to enhance loyalty and satisfaction.
What will I have to do?- Co‑responsible for meeting the MICE segment budget in terms of rooms and related revenues.
- Prepare quotes for meetings and events (≥10 rooms) aiming for maximum business in rooms, banqueting rooms, F&B and other group revenue, meeting response time guidelines.
- Follow up on outstanding proposals, update, manage and control the group business and its database, ensuring data in MARS and OPERA systems is current.
- Prepare and review negotiations, ensuring contracts and credit policies comply with MHI procedures.
- Follow up deposits and payments per contract dates, updating pro‑forma invoices and sending to clients when needed.
- After contract signing, coordinate all operational details and event services, informing all departments of required features and services.
- Prepare group summaries and Food & Beverage service orders, distributing them at least 7 days before the group arrival or event date.
- Participate in function sheet meetings and communicate clients’ requests to the operations team.
- During the group’s stay, maintain continuous contact with the client, support operations, and ensure everything runs as planned.
- Ensure a personalized customer experience, anticipating needs and exceeding expectations.
- Handle customer incidents, communicate actions taken, and escalated to the appropriate person if a solution cannot be found.
- Conduct site inspections, being fully conversant in room types, set‑ups, AV equipment, etc.
- 1–2 years in a similar role within a hotel environment.
- Experience with Opera PMS is a plus.
- Excellent time‑management, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English;
Dutch knowledge is a plus.
