Operations Manager

WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE MISSING PIECE TO COMPLETE US.AT BANKS MANSION, EVERYTHING REVOLVES AROUND FEELING.THE FEELING OF OUR GUESTS, BUT JUST AS IMPORTANTLY, THAT OF OUR TEAM.WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO WALKS ALONGSIDE US, THINKS WITH US, WORKS WITH US — AND STANDS STEADY WHEN THINGS GET BUSY.WHAT YOU'LL REALLY DO WITH US:

• Carry the daily operation as if it were your own home
• Lead the Front Office team and the Breakfast Supervisor
• Safeguard the quality of housekeeping and rooms (external cleaning company)
• Bring structure and elevate the team to the same level
• Take ownership of projects (such as Green Key) and see them through
• Address challenging energy within the team — respectfully, but clearly
• And above all: always put the guest at the centre

New ideas? Please do.

You bring them forward, develop them, and discuss them with the General Manager.

• Safe
• Seen
• Motivated

They know where they stand. And they know that when things get intense, you’re there.

You’re someone the team relies on. Not because you always have all the answers, but because you find them, explore them, and return with clarity.

You’re warm, but not a pushover. You see people, train them, motivate them. And when needed, you set boundaries, address issues, and protect the atmosphere.

You’re just as comfortable on the floor as behind the scenes. You switch effortlessly between the bigger picture and the smallest details. You love structure, but you understand that hospitality never fits neatly into a 9-to-5 box.

Calm? Yes.

Sharp? Absolutely.

A sense of humor? Please.

You feel most at home on the floor. Among guests, colleagues, and the daily rhythm of the house.

You understand that guest experience isn’t created by procedures, but by attention, presence, and timing. You see what’s needed —sometimes before the guest or team does.

You gain energy from being involved, from connection, from fine-tuning the details that make the difference between good and unforgettable.

A small conversation here, a sharp eye there, always keeping the bigger picture in mind. If you prefer to operate from a distance or mainly behind a desk, we may not be the right match. At Banks Mansion, everything happens within the house itself — and that’s exactly where you want to be.

Questions are of course welcome. Take a look around this website or call .

If we had to describe ourselves in traditional terms, we are a luxury 4-star boutique hotel on the Herengracht in the heart of Amsterdam. But at Banks, we don't really like labels. So let's put it another way: we are "a different kind of house," made up of friendly, sometimes a little curious people. But we always make you feel right at home the moment you walk in the front door.

When you can do what you feel like, without thinking about it. Running a bath and pouring a glass of wine (the guests, that is). Or just have one more piece of cheese. That's why everything that people are used to not including is included with Banks.

We take the time to get to know you, knowing that it's the little things that make the difference. Think of your favourite cocktail ingredients or tea blend or that golden tip about that great little store on that one hidden street. We've got it all.
