Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Transformation Lead to take ownership of our EMEA payroll landscape.

Across EMEA, payroll is currently delivered through multiple vendors, varied processes, and different operating models. The next phase requires strong leadership to harmonize how we operate, reduce vendor complexity and cost, and define a clear, sustainable payroll model for the region.

This role requires someone who has led multi-country payroll transformation before and is comfortable working in environments that are evolving and not yet fully structured. You will bring clarity, direction, and pace - while supporting teams through change and strengthening long‑term capability.

Key Responsibilities EMEA Payroll Strategy & Harmonization
  • Conduct a full review of the current EMEA payroll operating model
  • Define and implement a harmonized approach across countries where appropriate
  • Establish clear governance, controls, and service standards
  • Build and execute a practical roadmap that balances transformation with business continuity
Vendor Management & Cost Optimization
  • Review and rationalize the current vendor landscape across EMEA
  • Lead vendor consolidation initiatives to reduce fragmentation and cost
  • Partner with Procurement on contract negotiations and performance management
  • Implement structured vendor governance and KPI tracking
Team Leadership & Capability Building
  • Provide strategic leadership to payroll teams across EMEA hubs and markets
  • Clarify roles, accountabilities, and escalation models
  • Identify capability gaps and implement upskilling and knowledge‑sharing plans
  • Guide teams confidently through change while maintaining operational stability
Experience & Profile
  • Extensive experience leading multi‑country payroll operations across EMEA
  • Demonstrated success harmonizing payroll processes and reducing vendor complexity
  • Strong understanding of shared services, offshore, and outsourcing models
  • Experience managing dispersed regional teams
  • Commercially minded, with a track record of delivering cost efficiencies
  • Comfortable navigating complexity and bringing structure to fast‑moving environments

You combine strategic thinking with practical execution. You are calm under pressure, able to prioritize effectively, and capable of building trust across HR, Finance, Procurement, and regional leadership.

What Success Looks Like
  • A clearer, more consistent payroll operating model across EMEA
  • Reduced vendor landscape and improved cost control
  • Strengthened governance and service quality
  • Defined and executed offshore / outsourcing transitions
  • More capable, aligned payroll teams across the region
