Business manager

As operational manager, you are responsible for keeping the operation running smoothly. Behind the scenes, your duties include personnel management, cash management, stock management and ordering, implementing improvements, administration, record-keeping and organising events. In addition to your behind-the-scenes tasks, you are hands‑on on the floor. You are the point of contact for service staff, train new colleagues, and know how to motivate and coach current staff.

When it unexpectedly gets busy, you know how to adapt, keep a cool head, and above all, you thrive on this kind of situation. As an operational manager, you set an example and know better than anyone that the guest comes first. In addition, you are a connector and a people manager.

• Contract for 24-38 hours per week (fewer by arrangement)

• You are strong in communication and have experience in managing and motivating front-of-house staff
• You are resilient to stress, work in a structured manner and know how to switch gears when things get busy
• You have the necessary knowledge of craft beers, coffee and wines
• You have experience in inventory management and daily ordering
• You have experience with taking and organising (group) reservations
• You are outgoing, guest-oriented and empathetic
• You hold a certificate of social hygiene (not required)
• You speak the Dutch language
• You live in or around Amsterdam
• You have a minimum of 3 years' work experience in hospitality, of which 1 in a supervisory role
