The Role:

This is a fixed-term position providing maternity cover for the Impact Monitoring and Evaluation Manager over an eight-month period. The Interim Impact Monitoring and Evaluation Manager maintains and delivers Greenpeace’s established approach to measuring, monitoring, evaluating and understanding the impact our global programme is having in the world.

Working in collaboration with the global programme team and colleagues inside (GPI and NROs) and outside (external stakeholders) of the organisation, the postholder sustains existing monitoring and evaluation activity, progresses agreed priorities, and ensures continuity of in-progress work streams, reporting cycles and team support throughout the cover period. The emphasis of the role is on continuity, delivery and effective handover rather than the development of new long-term strategy.

What You Will Do

Maintain continuity of GPI’s established approach to impact measurement, monitoring and evaluation, sustaining in-progress initiatives and applying existing frameworks to support and increase the impact of the global programme during the cover period.

Advise the GPI Programme Management and Programme leaders on the impact of current programmes, including opportunities, audiences and strategies to strengthen ongoing work.

Lead, manage and develop the Impact Monitoring and Evaluation team in line with organisational goals and strategies to ensure continued effective performance during the cover period.

Deliver planned capacity development activities on impact measurement, monitoring and evaluation, including advice, technical assistance and support to NROs, training and the maintenance of related materials, tools and information kits.

Maintain and apply the established monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks, tools, methods and standards; support their continued refinement in consultation with programme colleagues.

Collaborate with GPI programme staff to ensure existing tools and processes for assessing impact remain understood and used.

Maintain relevant tools, toolkits, systems and processes and keep up to date on advancing methodologies; collaborate and consult with key stakeholders, particularly the Strategy, Systems and Insights team.

Contribute to ongoing decision making, strategic planning and reporting processes as appropriate to demonstrate accountability with the GPO (Programme reporting), the EDO (GPI and external related processes) and funder related reporting.

Identify opportunities to provide and present findings and data to colleagues to support ongoing campaigns, sound decision making and strategic planning.
