Job Description & How to Apply Below
Code Grade is an automated code feedback and grading platform used by universities and colleges worldwide. We’re a bootstrapped company with real traction, and we’re building the team to take us to the next level.
About
The Role
As Account Manager at Code Grade, your core job is to own the full customer relationship with universities and colleges, from first conversation through renewal and expansion. That means closing new institutional accounts, converting activated users into committed customers, deepening engagement with existing accounts, and ensuring every institution you work with gets lasting value from Code Grade.
You’ll run new‑business conversations end‑to‑end, manage relationships through renewal cycles, and identify opportunities to expand usage across departments and programs.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Partnerships and be a central part of a small, high‑ownership team. Our primary market is the US, so you need to be comfortable working US business hours.
What You’ll Do
Account Management (the core of the role)
Convert user activations into fully committed, contracted accounts
Own and deepen relationships with existing university and college customers
Manage renewals and check in with customers at key academic milestones
Identify upsell and expansion opportunities across departments and programmes
Run product demos when needed for new stakeholders or expansion conversations
Business Development (a supporting part of the role)
Monitor and qualify inbound leads across our core markets, primarily the US, with Europe and Australia as secondary markets
Support outreach campaigns and iterate based on performance data
Surface insights on where interest is growing and where we should focus
About You
2+ years of experience in B2B SaaS sales or account management, with a strong preference for experience working with higher education institutions
A technical background: a degree in CS or a related field, hands‑on coding experience, or a proven track record working with technical buyers like CS faculty or engineering teams
Comfortable working US business hours from wherever you are based
Organized, clear communicator in writing and in person
Self‑starter with a strong sense of ownership; you don’t need to be managed
Strong verbal and written English skills
Nice to Have
Experience in EdTech or working directly with universities
Familiarity with how computer science courses are structured and assessed
What We Offer
Competitive salary
A high‑impact role with real ownership from day one
Mac Book
Unlimited vacation policy
Swapfiets e‑bike or public transit card (for Amsterdam‑based team members)
Free lunch and drinks at our Amsterdam office when you’re in
Direct access to leadership and genuine influence over how we grow
