Director – Fragrance Division

Van Caem Klerks Group is an international trading company with over 50 years of experience in the global wholesale market. Active in Liquor, Fragrance & Cosmetics, and FMCG (Food and Home & Personal Care), we generate over €300 million in annual turnover while maintaining an entrepreneurial and informal culture. Our team consists of 150 professionals representing more than 35 nationalities, operating from Amsterdam, Curaçao, and our own logistics facilities near the Port of Rotterdam.

The Role
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Director for our Fragrance Division to lead and grow our international fragrance business.

You will be responsible for the division's commercial performance, supplier and customer relationships, team leadership, efficiency of warehousing and logistics, and overall growth strategy. You will manage a team of traders, negotiate key deals, identify new opportunities, and drive profitability across international markets.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Fragrance Division.

Manage and coach a team of traders.

Build and maintain strategic supplier and customer relationships.

Negotiate purchasing and sales deals and agreements.

Identify new business opportunities, brands, and markets.

Monitor market developments and pricing trends.

Drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence of warehousing and logistics.

Represent the company at international trade fairs and business meetings.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Commercial Economics, International Trade, or a related field.

Minimum 7 years of experience in international trading, wholesale, FMCG, fragrance, cosmetics, or a related industry.

Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams.

Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

Demonstrated success in developing international supplier and customer networks.

Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands‑on approach.

Strong analytical and financial understanding, cost management of the operations.

Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced and highly competitive trading environment.

Willingness to travel internationally when required.

Fluency in English; additional languages are considered a plus.

Residing in the Netherlands, preferably in the Amsterdam area.

Possession of a valid Category B driver's license.
