Sales Associate

Overview

For a newly opening store in the centre of Amsterdam we are looking for a sales associate. We teach you the basics of optics in just 16 weeks. Earn up to €2,832 based on a 38-hour workweek (including holiday allowance), plus the chance to receive a 16% quarterly bonus! You’ll get to work with iconic brands like Ray-Ban, Oakley, Vogue — and even the latest smart eyewear innovations from Meta.

What your day looks like

You notice a customer hesitating at the sunglasses display. “What are you looking for?” you ask. Together, you try on different styles from brands like Ray-Ban and Oakley. You explain how Crizal-coated lenses help reduce reflections and prevent scratches. And then it happens: she puts on a pair and her face lights up. “Yes, this one is perfect!” she says enthusiastically.

From day one, an experienced colleague teaches you how to advise customers, adjust frames perfectly, and determine which lenses offer the best vision. You’ll get plenty of time to learn, and become more independent every week.

During your workday, you will:

• Help customers choose frames, sunglasses, and lenses from top brands like Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Vogue
• Adjust glasses and carry out small repairs
• Process orders and keep the store organized
• Keep the store neat together with your team

After a few weeks, you’ll confidently assist customers and know exactly how to ensure they leave the store happy!

At Pearle, you learn everything on the job. From day one, you’ll have an experienced colleague as your mentor who guides you step by step through the world of eyewear and eye care.

You’ll take internal training sessions on lens options and frame advice. Want to grow further? Sign up for our company classes and earn your MBO level 4 Optician diploma within 2.5 years — fully paid by Pearle!

You’re attentive to customers and recognize sales opportunities. Thanks to your social skills, you highlight promotions in a friendly and natural way. That’s how your customers always leave with a great feeling — and the best deal. Additionally, you:

• Have at least MBO-level working and thinking skills;
• Preferably have sales experience in retail, hospitality, or lifestyle;
• A command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written, at B1 level;
• Are well presented;
• Are eager to learn more about optics through (online) training and courses;
• A high degree of flexibility in availability due to our extended opening hours.

• A salary of up to €2,946 gross per month based on 38 hours including holiday allowance, depending on your knowledge and experience;
• A monthly bonus of up to 18%, based on three performance targets (the amount depends on your salary and achieved results);
• Travel allowance of €0,23 per kilometer;
• 25 vacation days with a full-time contract (38 hours);
• 2 Care Days to use however you wish — for example on your birthday or a cultural day;
