Role:
Biopharma Production Specialist (m/f/x) – Central & Southern Europe As a Biopharma Production Specialist at Avantor, you will be responsible for generating growth opportunities in the Netherlands and the Southern European region with both existing and new customers. The BPS is charged with creating sustainable and profitable partnerships with customers in the biopharmaceutical industry and positioning Avantor as the preferred supplier to biopharmaceutical customers engaged in the manufacture of mammalian and microbial‑based therapeutics, vaccines, cell and gene therapies, and peptides.
Responsibilities Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts within the assigned territory.
Act as the primary point of contact post‑sale, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
Engage customers via site visits, phone, email, and video conferencing to close sales and provide ongoing support.
Respond to client inquiries and recommend appropriate products and services.
Execute the sales strategy and generate sales reports.
Identify opportunities to increase sales volume and ensure service levels are met.
Develop a strong understanding of the market, identify customer needs and challenges.
Leverage Avantor’s portfolio of biopharma products and services to deliver meaningful solutions.
Collaborate with Technical Applications Specialists to engage customers in value-added programs and technical projects.
Build and maintain long‑term business relationships to strengthen loyalty and drive sustainable growth.
Champion internal alignment among key stakeholders to ensure opportunities are managed and executed efficiently.
Identify and lead the development of new custom manufacturing opportunities.
Drive growth in strategic product areas including single‑use assemblies, fluid handling systems, mixing technologies and buffer management platforms.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BA) in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Genetic Engineering, or a related life sciences discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience within the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry or a related life sciences sector.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Ability to recognize the need for change and implement appropriate strategies.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑changing environment and perform well under pressure.
Self‑motivated team player capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Valid driver’s license.
Business‑fluent English.
Ability to travel regularly throughout Europe.
