Overview
Our clients are garden centre owners and managers running complex, seasonal businesses. They need a partner who understands their world — not just a contact who processes requests.
As Account Manager, you will own a portfolio of Dutch and Belgian clients, driving retention, growth and satisfaction across our digital marketing and SaaS services.
You are responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of garden centre clients across the Netherlands and Belgium. The primary focus is long‑term customer success, retention and account growth — ensuring clients get maximum value from GSI's platform and services while identifying opportunities to expand the partnership.
Responsibilities Account Management & Customer Success- Own a portfolio of garden centre clients — primary point of contact across service delivery, strategy and upsell
- Build lasting relationships at both operational and decision‑maker level
- Proactively monitor client satisfaction, churn signals and growth opportunities
- Conduct regular business reviews and translate performance data into actionable recommendations
- Manage contract renewals and develop account plans for key clients
- Advise clients on the right combination of services: websites, e‑commerce, content, SEO and email marketing
- Help clients define and improve their digital strategy — seasonally aware, commercially grounded — and challenge them constructively when a different approach would serve them better
- Translate client goals into briefs for internal content, product and development teams
- Share market trends and best practices from within the horticultural sector
- Onboard new clients smoothly in partnership with project management and development teams
- Represent client needs internally — ensuring teams have the right context to deliver strong outcomes
- Escalate risks or bottlenecks early and help find practical solutions
- Attend industry trade events and build face‑to‑face relationships with key stakeholders
- Fluent Dutch (essential) and working English for internal and UK client communication
- 2–4 years in account management, client success or commercial roles in digital marketing, SaaS or B2B services
- Strong relationship builder — trusted by clients, credible with senior stakeholders
- Commercial instinct: you spot opportunities and move them forward without being pushy
- Structured and organised — able to manage a busy client portfolio without things slipping
- Affinity with horticulture, retail or lifestyle — our clients notice the difference
- Experience with digital platforms, CMS, e‑commerce or loyalty solutions
- Background in a seasonal or SME‑focused client environment
- Relationship‑driven — clients trust you and come to you proactively
- Commercially aware — you spot growth opportunities and act on them without being pushy
- Organised and reliable — your portfolio runs smoothly because you stay ahead of it
- Seasonally attuned — you understand the rhythm of garden retail and plan accordingly
- Collaborative — you represent your clients internally as well as you represent GSI externally
- Curious and growing — you ask the right questions and keep developing your digital knowledge
- A client‑facing role in a specialist international market with genuine depth
- Real ownership of important client relationships — you are the face of GSI to your portfolio
- Close collaboration with content, product, development and commercial teams
- Opportunities to attend trade fairs and client events across NL, BE and occasionally UK
- Room to help shape account management processes as the team grows
- Salary: €40,000–€50,000 gross per year (based on experience) + performance incentive
- 25 days annual leave (full‑time basis)
- Hybrid working: 60% office (Halfweg) / 40% home — output over presence
