Our client, a leading environmental commodities and renewable fuels brokerage, is seeking a Biofuels Broker to join its growing team in Amsterdam.

This is a front‑office brokerage role focused on the Spanish biofuels market, with responsibility for originating opportunities, facilitating transactions, and developing relationships across the renewable fuels value chain. The successful candidate will work closely with producers, traders, distributors, obligated parties, and other market participants, helping clients navigate an evolving regulatory and commercial landscape.

The role offers the opportunity to join a highly entrepreneurial business operating at the centre of the European energy transition, working across both domestic and international biofuels markets.

Key Responsibilities

Originate and broker biofuel transactions within the Spanish market and wider European markets.

Build, develop, and manage relationships with clients across the biofuels supply chain.

Identify commercial opportunities and arbitrage opportunities across domestic and international markets.

Generate and structure trade ideas whilst supporting efficient transaction execution.

Provide clients with market intelligence, pricing insights, and commercial guidance.

Monitor developments across global biofuels spot and forward markets.

Analyse regulatory developments, pricing trends, and key market drivers.

Collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions and maximise trading opportunities.

Contribute to the continued growth of the brokerage desk and wider business.

Candidate Profile

Fluent Spanish and English; additional European languages are advantageous.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 2+ years of experience within brokerage, trading, sales, origination, commodities, or energy markets.

Strong understanding of Biofuels Markets, Renewable Fuels, Environmental Commodities, Energy Markets, European Regulatory Frameworks, Market & Price Analysis, Commercial Trading Dynamics.

Proven commercial mindset with the ability to identify and develop opportunities.

Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.

Analytical and structured thinker with a natural curiosity for market developments.

Resilient, self‑driven, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment.

Passion for sustainability, renewable fuels, and the energy transition.

Based in the Netherlands or willing to relocate, with the right to work in the country.
