Job Description & How to Apply Below
Enterprise Account Executive — SaaS, Startup, EV/Fleet Software, Netherlands
My client is a European EV Software startup that is looking for the 1st Enterprise AE on the ground in the Netherlands.
What you'd be doing
You'd be our first person in the country, which is exactly as exciting and as exposed as it sounds. No inbound to lean on, no reference logos to name-drop, no team to hand things off to. Just a target list, a playbook, and whatever pipeline you can build with your own two hands.
Day to day, that means finding the right fleets and going to the people who decide — heads of fleet, mobility, sustainability, procurement — mostly through relationships you already have. It means running real discovery (what they drive, where the ZE-zones bite, what their telematics and charging look like) and putting a business case in front of them that's built on their numbers, not a generic sustainability pitch.
It means scoping pilots that are designed to convert, owning them start to finish, and turning the first few into the case studies that make the next ten easier.
And it means closing — negotiating, pricing, handling the DPA and works-council conversations as part of the deal rather than an afterthought.
Along the way you'd be feeding everything you learn back into how we sell here, keeping your pipeline honest in the CRM, and quietly building the foundation for the local team you'll eventually hire and lead. This role is built to grow into Country Manager. That's not a carrot — it's the plan.
Whether this is you
Be honest with yourself on four things, because they're non-negotiable:
You have a real network here — not a list, a network. Trusted, active relationships with Dutch fleet decision-makers across logistics, last-mile, services, passenger and public-sector fleets, ideally into leasing and rental too. The kind of relationships that get you meetings in week one, not week twelve.
You've carried a number and closed it yourself, end to end — prospected, progressed and signed, without a pipeline handed to you or a closer to pass the baton to.
You’re Dutch-market native: fluent in Dutch and English, based here and you genuinely understand how Dutch fleets buy.
And you want the blank page. A quiet pipeline and no support functions reads as opportunity to you, not risk. If you'd rather have leads served up in a big-company seat, this one will make you miserable.
Everything else is a bonus: knowing EV, fleet, telematics or the NL regulatory maze (ZE-zones, bijtelling, WPM); building TCO and CO₂ cases that hold up in front of finance; comfort with procurement and AVG/GDPR; clean CRM habits; a SaaS scale-up background selling to operations buyers.
Why it's worth it
You'd own a country — with the responsibility and the freedom that come with that. You'd win the customers that define how we sell in the Netherlands, so your fingerprints end up on the whole market. There's a clear route into Country Manager for whoever proves the motion. And you'd be selling into demand that regulation is creating whether we show up or not — you'd just be the one who shows up first.
