Under limited supervision, responsible for maintaining relationships with accounts by visiting customer sites within assigned territory. Sell products and services to customers and act as point of contact post-sale, focusing on ongoing customer satisfaction, retention, and growing business. In addition to face-to-face meetings, engage with customers over the phone and Internet (e.g., chat, email, video conferencing, etc.) to close sales and support clients.

Respond to client inquiries and offer guidance on appropriate products and services. Execute sales strategy, generate sales reports, and identify opportunities to increase sales volume while ensuring service levels are met.

Biopharma Production Specialist (m/f/x) – Central & Southern Europe (Location Flexible)

As a Biopharma Production Specialist at Avantor, you will be responsible for generating growth opportunities in the Netherlands and the Southern European region with both existing and new customers.

The role of the Biopharma Production Specialist (BPS) is to create sustainable and profitable partnerships with customers in the biopharmaceutical industry. The BPS is responsible for sales activities within the assigned territory, with a focus on positioning Avantor as the preferred supplier to biopharmaceutical customers engaged in the manufacture of mammalian and microbial-based therapeutics, vaccines, cell and gene therapies and peptides.

The BPS develops a strong understanding of the market, identifies customer needs and challenges, and leverages Avantor's portfolio of biopharma products and services to deliver meaningful solutions. It is imperative that you are a proactive and results-driven professional who values the return on investment gained through developing key stakeholder relationships and driving profitable growth within our Biopharma business.

How you will thrive and create impact

Increase regional awareness of Avantor's value proposition as a manufacturer and supplier of bioprocess chemicals, sera, single-use technologies, buffer management solutions, and bioprocess systems

Promote products and services that support the manufacturing of monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, cell and gene therapies, peptides, and other biologics

Work closely with the various Technical Applications Specialist teams to engage customers in value-added programs and technical projects

Build and maintain long-term business relationships with customers to strengthen loyalty and drive sustainable growth

Execute company strategies to achieve sales growth across the assigned region

Champion internal alignment among key stakeholders to ensure customer opportunities are managed and executed efficiently

Identify and lead the development of new custom manufacturing opportunities

Drive growth in strategic product areas including single-use assemblies, fluid handling systems, mixing technologies and buffer management platforms

Bachelor's degree (BSc/BA) in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Genetic Engineering, or another relevant life sciences discipline

Minimum of 5 years of sales experience within the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry or a related life sciences sector

Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Ability to recognize the need for change and implement appropriate strategies to facilitate it

Ability to work effectively in a fast-changing environment and perform well under pressure

Self-motivated team player capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously

Valid driver's license

Business-fluent English

Ability to travel regularly throughout Europe
