Position Title:

Registered Nurse (RN) – Psych

Location:

Amsterdam, NY 12010

Duration: 13 Weeks (Extension Possible)

Work Schedule:

12-Hour Days & 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to patients with mental health and behavioral conditions.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for therapeutic response and side effects.
• Assess patients for suicide risk, aggression, self-harm, or behavioral changes and intervene appropriately.
• Respond effectively to psychiatric emergencies using de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Ensure a safe therapeutic environment while following facility policies and infection control standards.
• Utilize CPI techniques to safely manage crisis situations when necessary.

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• Minimum 5 years of Psychiatric RN experience.
• Minimum 2 years of Travel Nursing experience.
• Active New York State RN License.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification.
• Previous travel assignments with extensions/renewals preferred.
• Previous employees of this facility are not eligible to work as travelers.
