Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Labor and Delivery Nurse

Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care to women in labor and delivery settings.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vitals to assess progress and wellbeing.
• Administer medications and epidurals as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist during delivery procedures, including assisting with physical support and sterile techniques.
• Educate patients and their families on postpartum care and newborn procedures.
• Float to related units as needed, ensuring continuity of patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Be BLS, ACLS, and NRP certified.
• Have recent experience in labor and delivery or maternity wards.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
• Be comfortable with floating and flexible scheduling, including possible on-call shifts.
