Assist the Director of Nursing Services in daily operations, policy development, and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with regulations and facility standards.
Administer and supervise nursing staff on shifts, ensuring adequate staffing and delegation of duties. Perform rounds, review medication, monitor resident progress, and report problems to the Director.
Participate in committees (infection control, policy advisory, pharmaceutical, quality assessment, etc.), preparing reports and implementing committee recommendations.
Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, maintaining accurate records and informing families of changes or outcomes.
Oversee staff development, including in‑service training programs, safety and sanitation protocols, and procedural competency for care personnel.
Maintain equipment, supplies, and medication inventory, guiding preventive maintenance and proper use of medical devices.
Develop and implement resident care plans, ensuring alignment with medical and nursing assessments, and coordinate interdisciplinary care.
Monitor safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness, ensuring that PPE, hand hygiene, and isolation precautions are consistently applied.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
• Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a long‑term care setting, preferably inpatient or post‑acute facility.
• Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Licensing & Certifications
• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state.
• CPR certification.
• Preferred knowledge of PCC; ongoing continuing education required.
Skills & Abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to present information effectively.
• Sound judgment and independent decision making in nursing care situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with medical charting, medication management, and electronic health records.
• Physical capability to move, lift, and perform skilled nursing duties (25 lb over 5 ft, 50 ft).
• Ability to cope with emotional and stressful situations.
