Position Overview
This position will assist Dr. Timothy Del Curto with the management of the USDA ARS Precision Livestock Initiative. The role involves collaborating with graduate students and research associates to accomplish research objectives in animal production, including livestock, nutrition, and forage management.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct ruminant livestock research.
- Assist with graduate student projects including:
- Data collection
- Analysis and publication
- Guest lecture in Animal Science courses
- Work independently on animal research projects.
- Master’s Degree in Animal Science or related field.
- Experience working with ruminant livestock.
- Experience with ruminant nutrition laboratory methods.
- Experience with data management and analysis.
- Experience with manuscript preparation.
- Solid background with forage nutrition as it relates to beef production.
- Proven track record in oral and written communication.
- Willingness to assist other graduate students with research projects, including laboratory work, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
- Understanding and experience in low‑stress livestock management.
