Classroom Aide – Anacortes Family Center Preschool

$19.45 – $20.63 per hour (DOE/DOQ) (+$1.00 per hour location differential)

20–25 hours per week | Monday–Friday

Preschoolers at the Anacortes Family Center ask big questions, tell wild stories, and turn everyday moments into adventures. As a Classroom Aide, you will work alongside Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and the Club Director to create a welcoming environment where children feel encouraged to learn, play, and grow.

• Support classroom routines, early learning activities, and social‑emotional development.
• Assist with art projects, guide circle time, help classmates problem‑solve and celebrate milestones such as writing their name.
• Help children build confidence, encourage exploration, and facilitate play‑based learning.
• Stay actively engaged during the day, including bending, sitting on the floor, moving throughout the classroom, and assisting children as needed.

• Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Patient, positive, and comfortable in a busy classroom environment.
• Background clearance and health requirements to meet Washington DCYF standards.
• Training such as CPR/First Aid and STARS will be supported if needed.
