Overview
A major industrial refinery in the Galveston Bay area is seeking an experienced Controls Systems Engineer to support and maintain Honeywell Distributed Control Systems (DCS). This is a critical onsite role supporting plant operations, system reliability, and long-term controls improvement initiatives.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting control systems, improving automation reliability, and standardizing documentation and best practices across the controls environment.
Responsibilities- Provide onsite support for Honeywell DCS systems (Experion, TDC
3000, C300) - Troubleshoot control system and industrial network issues
- Develop long-term solutions for recurring system problems
- Create and standardize system documentation and troubleshooting guides
- Develop system architecture and network drawings
- Support integration with other platforms (Delta
V, ABB, Ovation, HIMA, Triconex, PLCs)
- 5+ years of experience supporting industrial control systems
- Strong hands-on experience with Honeywell DCS
- Background in refinery, oil & gas, chemical, or power plant environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Experience with Delta
V, ABB, Ovation, Triconex, HIMA, or PLCs - Refinery or petrochemical plant experience
- Long-term stability supporting a major industrial operation
- High-impact role supporting production and safety
