The didgwalic Wellness Center is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor to come join an integrated care clinic that combines primary care, behavioral health, and opiate treatment under one roof. The Mental Health Counselor will have expertise in counseling that includes providing assessment, individual counseling, and case management; will possess strong crisis intervention and will be able to provide comprehensive individual and group therapy.

- Works with a multidisciplinary treatment team consisting of Medical Providers, Clinical Director, Treatment Services Coordinator (if applicable), Substance Use Disorder Professionals, and Nurses to identify and meet the needs of the patient within the treatment planning process and to assist in their overall well-being.
- Conducts intake assessment interviews, writes intake assessments, and diagnoses utilizing the mental health diagnostic manual, DSM 5.
- Conducts individual, family, or group therapy sessions for co-occurring disorders based on ethical and medical necessity guidelines.
- Develops treatment plans for patients who are dually diagnosed at the clinics.
- Provides the appropriate documentation for service delivery, including treatment goals, crisis plans, and progress notes, in a timely manner.
- Develops and provides psycho-educational groups or ongoing therapy groups.
- Participates in clinical supervision at least once per week with the Director of Social Work.
- Guides clients in developing skills and strategies to deal with their problems.
- Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
- Continues professional development and maintains all requirements to ensure that license/certification remains current and in good standing.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Social Work.
- Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field.
- One+ years’ experience in mental health treatment, preferably working with dually diagnosed patients.
- WA LMHC/LMHCA/LMFT/LICSW or related license preferred.
- Experience providing behavioral intervention with children and families in a mental health or social services setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child developmental stages and family dynamics.
- Experience conducting child assessments and family counseling sessions.
- Proven experience in crisis intervention and managing high-stress situations involving youth.
- Provide support and psychoeducation to parents and caregivers on behavioral interventions, mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and techniques needed to manage behaviors and symptoms and to develop functional skills using behavioral approaches.
- Organize, when appropriate, clinical group opportunities for children and youth to develop and practice the necessary coping skills they need to develop and manage their behaviors and symptoms.
