Description

What You Will Be Doing- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age‑specific needs.
- Positions patients to produce a radiograph as prescribed by a qualified physician.
- Provides immobilization devices as required.
- Adjusts controls of equipment as needed to produce a radiograph as prescribed by a qualified physician.
- Administers drugs or chemical mixtures orally or as enemas to render organs opaque.
- Provides radiation protection as needed per exam.
- Processes films by either automatic or hand processing.
- Transports patients to and from patients waiting area and/or patient rooms assuming responsibility for their safety.
The Role
- High school graduate or equivalent and satisfactory completion of a formal radiological technology training program in an AMA approved school.
- Certification through the National registry American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current BLS Certification required.
- Current Washington State Certification is required.
- Demonstrated communication skills consistent with Island Hospital’s mission, vision, values and Promise.
- Planning, organization and prioritization skills with demonstrated evidence of critical thinking, problem solving and analytical processing ability.
- Self‑motivated, flexible and has the ability work independently and in a team environment, with strong ethical standards.
- Adaptability and flexibility to facilitate change while meeting multiple demands and priorities of a challenging position and workload.

Salary Range$38.64 – $56.08 per hour
