0.0 FTE / Per Diem | Variable Shifts Salary Range: $36.65 – $54.97 per hour

Differentials:

• Nights – $2.75 per hour
• Evenings – $2.25 per hour
• Weekends – $2.00 per hour

At Island Health, our Respiratory Therapists are trusted clinical partners who play a vital role in helping patients breathe easier and recover stronger. In this per diem role, you'll work alongside a collaborative care team to deliver safe, high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages across inpatient and emergency settings.

• Set up and manage ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol therapy
• Perform diagnostic testing, including ECGs, pulmonary function testing, and arterial blood gas analysis
• Initiate and document Respiratory Assessment Protocols, communicate findings, and collaborate with physicians on treatment plans
• Provide airway clearance therapies, breathing exercises, and patient education
• Inspect and maintain respiratory equipment for safe operation
• Participate in patient transport while monitoring respiratory status
• Arrange and coordinate home oxygen services following hospital protocol
• Complete daily billing/charging procedures accurately within Meditech

• Current Washington State License to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from NBRC
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care
