Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with primary seafood processing operations and fleet support in twelve Alaska communities. Trident’s global operations produce finished wild Alaska seafood products in 6 countries and its sales teams serve customers in over 50 countries. Trident employs approximately 9,000 people worldwide each year and partners with over 5,400 independent fishermen and crew members.
Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide.
The Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical and electrical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and production equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
- Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary.
- Ability to repair electrical equipment with motors.
- Follows plant food safety policies and industry best practices.
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
- All other duties as assigned.
This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $22.97 to $38.43 per hour.

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Production Maintenance.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, conveyors and bagging machines.
- One year certificate from college or technical school.
- Basic electrical and automation controls.
- 3-5 years experience in production maintenance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to problem solve and troubleshoot diverse breakdowns.
- Demonstrated knowledge in various software programs such as Microsoft applications and experience with a CMMS program.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools to include welding machines, cutting torches and power tools.
