Processes seafood by cleaning, trimming, segregating and packing product in packaging materials.

Note:

This is a shore plant position at our value-added plant in Anacortes, Washington and does NOT include housing, transportation or food assistance.

Essential Functions:

(Responsibilities, Tasks, Supervisory Needs):

• Cleans, scrapes, trims and fillets product.
• Opens and removes raw materials from packaging and places on belts.
• Segregates product on conveyor belt or table according to grade, color, and size, and places product in containers or on designated conveyors.
• Discards and culls inferior or defective items and foreign matter.
• Packs product in boxes, barrels, baskets, or crates for storage or shipment.
• Reviews workspace for cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to perform Tier I essential functions at a higher level of productivity and quality.
• Tasks and assignments must be performed in a safe manner at all times.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $18 - $27.24 per hour.

Work environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet, humid and cold conditions, and moving mechanical parts.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products.

Work Ability Requirements:

• Employees regularly bend or lean at waist level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or grasp packages and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel and crouch.
• The employee lifts and carries objects up to 5lbs regularly and up to 50lbs occasionally.
