    • Registered Nurse (RN): $35.70 – $53.54 per hour
    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): $25.08 – $37.63 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Room patients, collect medical data, document visits, and assist with physical exams.
  • Triage patient situations over the telephone to determine appropriate medical attention.
  • Under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Clinician, administer vaccines and medications via IV, PO, IM, SQ; conduct EKG and spirometry testing.
  • Administer various CLIA-waived lab tests (glucose, OGTT, INR, drug screens, pregnancy tests, TB tests, etc.) under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Clinician.
  • Facilitate and manage clinic flow.
  • Provide direct patient care to patients of all ages.
  • Facilitate the exchange and coordination of information regarding the patient process.
  • Consistently utilize information systems confidentially and accurately.
  • Act as a patient advocate, communicating effectively with patients, families, and staff about treatment, tests, procedures, medications, and hospitalizations.
  • Coordinate services between clinic and other healthcare entities, such as insurance, medical referrals, and public health or social services.
  • Provide legible, pertinent, complete, and timely documentation.
  • Perform routine record checks according to clinic policies and protocols.
  • Address safety issues and utilize resources to provide cost‑effective, quality care.
  • Follow clinic policies, procedures, and infection control protocols consistently.
  • Provide feedback to peers and supervisors regarding systems or staff performance issues that affect safe, quality care.
  • Monitor inventory, quality assurance requirements, standards, and other patient‑related needs.
  • Assist in stocking medical and pharmaceutical supplies and notify staff when inventories are low.
  • Enter data for the state‑supplied childhood vaccine program.
  • Assist with documenting oxygen tank checks, checking for outdated supplies and medications.
  • Document medical refrigerator temperatures and adjust when necessary.
  • Maintain clinical and professional expertise through continuing education.
  • Function within guidelines of Island Health HIPAA Compliance Policies and Confidentiality Agreements.
  • Interact positively with administration, directors, managers, supervisors, peers, co‑workers, subordinates, patients and visitors.
  • Meet regular attendance standards and maintain below-average sick utilization.
  • Provide testing and medical dosing for INR patients; maintain patient flow sheets.
  • Order and maintain required counts of state‑supplied vaccines and complete monthly reporting to the Department of Health.
  • Order all medications and IUDs from pharmacy.
  • Provide injections and immunizations of prescribed medications.
  • Inventory crash boxes monthly for outdates and document completion.
  • Conduct ear lavages, suture removal, and blood pressure checks.
  • Maintain QA requirements as mandated.
Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with multiple disciplines.
  • Strong attention to detail with accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to monitor own work to ensure quality and prioritization.
  • Proficiency with technology applications to increase efficiency in clinic operations.
  • Understanding of data acquisition and management related to Electronic Medical Records and ability to make decisions regarding them.
RN Requirements
  • Two (2) years of previous clinical experience in an outpatient physician practice preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the Washington Department of Health.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
LPN Requirements
  • Two (2) years of previous clinical experience in an outpatient physician practice preferred.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the Washington Department of Health.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
