Seeking a motivated and technically strong Staff Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for someone with a solid accounting foundation who enjoys investigating the general ledger, booking journal entries, and digging into financial data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post a high volume of journal entries
- Investigate the general ledger to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain GL accuracy
- Apply strong understanding of debits and credits to ensure proper financial reporting
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform allocations and support financial reporting activities
- Research accounting variances and determine root causes
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Recommend and support process improvements
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve accounting-related inquiries
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA license or actively pursuing CPA strongly preferred
- 1–3+ years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of debits, credits, and core accounting principles
