Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

An established manufacturing organization is seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations for a production facility and serve as a key business partner to operational leadership. This role is responsible for financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory controls, and performance analysis in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The Controller will play a critical role in driving financial visibility, supporting operational decision-making, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.

• Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with company standards.
• Prepare, review, and interpret financial statements, operational results, and key business performance indicators.
• Lead the development of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and long-term financial planning initiatives.
• Provide strategic financial analysis, variance reporting, and actionable recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
• Manage and continuously improve standard costing methodologies and cost accounting processes.
• Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions to optimize performance.
• Direct inventory accounting activities, including valuation, cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventory programs.
• Ensure accurate product, project, and manufacturing cost calculations to support operational and financial objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support pricing strategies, margin improvement efforts, and profitability analysis.
• Partner with operations and business leaders to identify cost reduction opportunities and drive operational efficiencies.
• Monitor production and operational metrics, providing insights to enhance performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting standards.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes.
• Lead, coach, and develop finance and accounting team members, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
• Progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, including demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
• Background supporting manufacturing, operations, or similarly complex business environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and internal control frameworks.
• Proven ability to partner with operational leaders to drive business performance and support strategic decision-making.
• Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences.
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities, leading teams, and driving process improvement initiatives.
