The Apartment Association of Orange County (AAOC) is a non‑profit trade organization representing over 2,000 rental‑property owners, operators, and industry suppliers in Orange and Riverside County, California. AAOC provides advocacy, education, and resources to support the rental housing industry. Affiliated with the National Apartment Association (NAA) and the California Rental Housing Association (CalRHA), AAOC addresses local, state, and national industry needs.

Its mission is centered on empowering rental housing professionals through representation, services, and innovation.

Role Description

The Member Services Coordinator plays a vital role in delivering day‑to‑day service and support to members of the Apartment Association of Orange County (AAOC) – a dynamic non‑profit trade association serving rental property owners, operators, suppliers (vendors), and other multifamily professionals. This role serves as a primary point of contact for members and requires superior customer service, relationship building, and communication skills.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a service‑oriented mindset, and a creative approach to member engagement. They are comfortable juggling multiple priorities, exercising cross‑functional skills, collaborating in a forward‑thinking office environment, and contributing to the daily operations of the association  role will also involve supporting membership engagement initiatives, assisting with event planning and execution, assisting with social media and website content development, and collaborating with the AAOC team to ensure member satisfaction.

Experience working for non‑profit associations or member organizations is highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for members via phone, email, and in‑person interactions, providing courteous and efficient support, and cultivating and maintaining strong professional relations.
  • Provide guidance to association members with common questions related to the landlord/tenant relationship, rental‑housing operations, and best practices.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of membership recruitment and retention campaigns.
  • Assist with the processing and onboarding of new members, and the engagement and retention of existing members.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and updating the member database, including data entry, processing of adds, renewals, and drops, dues calculations and invoicing, online member directories, and other tasks within the Association Management Software (AMS).
  • Assist in preparing reports, reviewing and fulfilling e‑commerce orders, creating and updating events, registration pages, and website navigation, and fulfilling other tasks within the AMS.
  • Create, manage, and send email campaigns and content via Mailchimp.
  • Create, manage, and send online surveys in Survey Monkey.
  • Assist with social media content creation and publication.
  • Attend and provide support at meetings and events, including greeting guests, event check‑in, and on‑site registration.
  • Assist with the development, design, and production of digital and/or print content.
  • Assist with the design, formatting, and updating of digital documents and forms.
  • Assist with other cross‑functional tasks, projects, or activities as needed or assigned.
