Role OverviewWe re seeking a strategic, collaborative, and growth-oriented Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives and forge partnerships with pharmaceutical sponsors, CROs, and biotechnology companies. You ll identify new business opportunities, cultivate sponsor relationships, and position Kinetic Clinical Research as a premier site network partner. This leadership role requires building systems, teams, and strategies that scale with our rapidly expanding organization.

- Develop and execute business development strategy to drive trial awards and revenue growth across all therapeutic areas
- Build scalable systems, processes, and infrastructure to support business development operations
- Identify and pursue sponsor relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and CROs
- Build and maintain robust pipeline of clinical trial opportunities aligned with company capabilities
- Establish long-term partnerships with sponsors, CROs, and key opinion leaders in target therapeutic areas
- Serve as primary sponsor contact ensuring exceptional service throughout trial lifecycle
- Lead proposal development including feasibility assessments and competitive positioning
- Represent company at industry conferences, site selection meetings, and networking events
- Present at conferences and serve on industry panels to elevate company profile and thought leadership
- Monitor industry trends and provide strategic insights to executive team
- Partner with operations, quality, and clinical teams for seamless trial execution
- Build and mentor business development teams as the organization scales
- Develop collaborative frameworks that connect business development with operations and clinical functions
Required:
- Bachelor s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field
- 7-10 years business development experience in clinical research (site network, CRO, or sponsor)
- Proven track record securing clinical trial awards and achieving revenue targets
- Demonstrated ability building systems, processes, and teams in growth-stage organizations
- Highly collaborative leadership style with cross-functional partnership experience
- Deep understanding of clinical trial operations, GCP guidelines, FDA regulations, and ICH standards
- Established network of sponsor and CRO contacts in pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors
- Strong proposal development and relationship management skills
- Excellent presentation and communication abilities with executive-level stakeholders
- Proficiency with CRM systems and business development tools
- Travel up to 40% for conferences, site visits, and sponsor meetings
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, Pharm
D) - Multi-site network or site management organization experience
- Therapeutic expertise in metabolic, infectious disease, vaccine, dermatology, or psychiatry studies
- ACRP or SOCRA certification
