Site Safety Supervisor – Full‑Time. This role oversees workplace safety and environmental compliance across our mechanical construction projects in San Diego, Imperial, Riverside, and Los Angeles Counties. You will identify hazards, enforce OSHA standards, and foster a culture where safety is the top priority, ensuring every team member returns home safely while maintaining the high operational standards of our mechanical contracting firm.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs of project sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Lead "Toolbox Talks," safety orientations for new hires, and specialized training sessions on fall protection, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry.
  • Perform thorough root‑cause analyses for any near‑misses or accidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain all required safety logs, permits, and OSHA 300 logs. Review subcontractor safety plans to ensure they align with company standards.
  • Maintain onsite first aid stations and AEDs, and serve as the lead for initial medical assessments of minor injuries to determine the necessary level of care.
  • Monitor job site environments for exposure to silica dust, noise levels, and chemical hazards, ensuring proper mitigation and PPE usage.
  • Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Pre‑Task Plans (PTP) alongside foremen to identify and mitigate risks before work begins each day.
  • Administer safety incentive programs and recognition initiatives to encourage proactive hazard reporting and a "zero‑incident" mindset among the crew.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by management to support the evolving needs of the project and company.
Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct supervisory responsibilities; focuses on site‑level management and active coordination with field members to maintain safety standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
  • 3–5 years of safety experience in the construction industry, ideally within mechanical, electrical, or plumbing (MEP) trades.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction required; CSP (Certified Safety Professional).
  • CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) preferred.
  • Deep understanding of Title 8 (Cal/OSHA) and federal OSHA standards.
Compensation
  • Wage: $24.04 - $38.46/hr (depending on experience).
Language Skills

The supervisor must be able to write clear, professional reports and safety plans that are easy for both management and field staff to understand. They need strong verbal skills to lead safety meetings and explain complex regulations in a way that is practical for the crew. Effective communication is also required to coordinate with project leaders and external inspectors.

Mathematical Skills

This role involves using basic math to track safety trends, manage equipment budgets, and verify simple technical data like load limits or measurements. The supervisor must be able to analyze incident rates and percentages to report on the overall safety performance of a project. Accuracy in these calculations is essential for maintaining compliance and site integrity.

Reasoning Ability

Strong analytical skills are needed to identify potential hazards and determine the root causes of any site incidents. The supervisor must use sound judgment to make quick decisions, including the authority to stop work if they identify an immediate risk. They must be able to interpret various safety rules and apply them logically to a fast‑paced construction environment.
