As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead and expand our electrical construction, tenant improvement, service, and low-voltage operations throughout the Southern California market.
Position SummaryThe Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for estimating, selling, and managing electrical construction projects while developing strong client relationships and ensuring successful project execution. This individual will work closely with our established mechanical and plumbing teams to provide integrated solutions for clients and general contractors while achieving operational and financial success.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate, develop, sell, and manage electrical construction, tenant improvement, service, and low-voltage projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Partner with internal mechanical and plumbing project managers to pursue combined bid opportunities and leverage long-standing client and general contractor relationships.
- Review project scope, evaluate alternatives, and recommend effective construction methods, materials, and value-engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with construction managers, superintendents, foremen, and project teams to support project progress, safety, quality, and best practices.
- Coordinate with project superintendents to identify prefabrication opportunities and construction efficiencies before and during project execution.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships that support successful project delivery and future business opportunities.
- Negotiate, prepare, and administer subcontracts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, billings, collections, cost controls, change orders, and overall profitability.
- Identify project risks, resolve coordination issues, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure project documentation and controls are maintained in accordance with contract requirements and company standards.
- Support team initiatives and perform additional project management responsibilities as required.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical construction, including design, estimating, project management, and financial management.
- 4+ years of field experience coordinating with construction management teams.
- Strong knowledge of estimating, takeoffs, bidding, scheduling, contract administration, change order management, and project documentation.
- Experience managing commercial and industrial electrical construction projects; lighting project experience is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational, documentation, problem-solving, scheduling, and cost-control abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software platforms.
- Prior electrical estimating experience is required; experience with Accubid or Conest Intelli Bid is preferred.
