Premium West Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the daily field execution of commercial construction projects from mobilization through final turnover. Working directly with the Project Superintendent, this individual will help coordinate subcontractors, maintain safe and orderly jobsite operations, verify quality, monitor short-term schedules, support inspections, and ensure assigned work areas are completed in accordance with the contract documents and Premium West standards.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $75,000 to $110,000 per year. Benefits packages are offered including a 401k company match at 3%.

The following represent qualifications for candidates as well as the project description, which is located in Anaheim, California:

• Support the Superintendent in directing daily jobsite activities and coordinating subcontractor operations.
• Take ownership of assigned trades, phases, floors, buildings, or work areas.
• Confirm daily manpower, work locations, planned activities, material availability, equipment needs, and access requirements.
• Coordinate work between trades to prevent conflicts, incomplete prerequisites, stacking, and avoidable rework.
• Maintain a consistent field presence and hold subcontractors accountable for commitments, workmanship, housekeeping, and schedule performance.
• Escalate unresolved field conditions promptly rather than allowing them to affect downstream work.

• Actively enforce the PW Corporate Safety Plan and project-specific safety requirements.
• Participate in site orientations, pre-task planning, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analyses, and routine safety inspections.
• Verify proper PPE, fall protection, barricades, access control, housekeeping, equipment use, and safe work practices.
• Immediately report incidents, injuries, near misses, property damage, unsafe conditions, and regulatory visits.
• Understand and support the project Emergency Action Plan, including site evacuation, emergency communications, and preservation of an incident scene.
• Correct unsafe conditions immediately and stop work when an imminent hazard exists.

• Understand the project master schedule, milestone dates, and applicable phasing requirements.
• Assist with preparing and maintaining three-week look-ahead plans, weekly work plans, and daily activity coordination.
• Compare actual field progress and manpower against planned production.
• Identify schedule constraints, procurement concerns, inspection requirements, incomplete predecessor work, and potential delays.
• Develop and communicate recovery actions with the Superintendent and responsible subcontractors.
• Coordinate phased work, multiple work areas, shutdowns, off-hours operations, and turnover milestones as required.

• Review applicable plans, specifications, approved submittals, RFIs, ASIs, sketches, and manufacturer requirements before work begins.
• Participate in preparatory meetings, mockup reviews, first-work inspections, and pre-installation coordination.
• Verify field dimensions, substrates, rough-ins, backing, clearances, elevations, and preceding work before installation.
• Inspect work before it is concealed or presented for third-party inspection.
• Document deficiencies and follow them through correction and verification.
• Prevent defective or incomplete work from progressing into subsequent activities.
• Support a proactive "build it right the first time" approach rather than relying on final punch lists to identify quality issues.

• Coordinate required municipal, special, consultant, manufacturer, and owner inspections with the Superintendent and Project Engineer.
• Confirm that work is complete, accessible, clean, and ready before requesting an inspection.
• Ensure subcontractor representatives, equipment, ladders, lifts, testing instruments, and documentation are available.
• Track inspection results, correction notices, retesting, and final signoffs.
• Maintain awareness of upcoming inspection dates and incorporate them into the short-term schedule.
