Family Health Centers (federally qualified health centers or FQHCs) in Santa Ana and Anaheim;
Joe
C. Wen & Family Center for Advanced Care;
Senior Health Center; skilled nursing facilities; inpatient services and obstetric deliveries at the UCI Douglas Hospital in Orange. (The FQHC locations qualify for various state and federal loan repayment programs.) We also provide education across undergraduates, medical students, family medicine residents, fellows in geriatrics and sports medicine, and outreach to the community.
The incumbent is responsible for providing expert medical care to UCI Health patients with a range of potential illnesses, injuries, or disabilities. Duties include conducting routine physical examinations, referring patients to medical specialists, and prescribing medications based on the patient’s medical conditions. This position includes participation in outpatient call.
Essential Job Functions- Provides clinical expertise while responding to patients’ medical complaints and evaluating their health history.
- Orders diagnostic tests and refers patients to specialists when necessary; analyzes reports, examinations, medical records, and test results to accurately diagnose patients.
- Presents and discusses treatment options with patients, prescribes and reviews medications, and advises patients of diet and/or lifestyle changes to improve health conditions.
- Adheres to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while complying with all UC and FQHC policies and procedures.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all state and federal privacy laws.
- Physician; board‑certified, full‑scope ambulatory health‑care services.
- Experienced in providing and/or oversight of pre‑natal care.
- Leadership skills; ability to motivate, inspire, and communicate with faculty, residents, staff, and peers to maintain a professional, team‑based approach in patient care.
- California medical license and active, current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification.
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution; completion of Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency; board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Proficiency in Spanish.

Expected Salary Range$237,000 – $290,000 annual
