JOB DESCRIPTION
:
The Natural Sciences Division seeks adjunct instructors to teach general biology lecture and lab courses, human biology lecture and lab courses, and biotechnology lecture and lab courses on campus or at dual enrollment sites for Fall 2025 and beyond. Courses include BIOL 101F, BIOL 102F, BIOL 102LF, BIOL 190F, BIOL 190LF (Biology/Nat Sci).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
:
The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If the degree award date is not posted on the transcript, the application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration. Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts. All degrees and coursework used to satisfy the minimum qualifications must be submitted from accredited postsecondary institutions.

Evaluations of foreign degrees and/or coursework are required.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
Master’s in any biological science OR Bachelor’s in any biological science AND Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science; OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area; OR the equivalent as determined by the District Equivalency Committee. Commitment to diversity is required and applicants must demonstrate sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and equity-minded practices in the classroom.

Qualifications

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
: MS or advanced degree in biology, cellular biology, developmental biology, ecology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or allied fields. Commitment to examining and improving instructional practices to engage disproportionately impacted student populations and close equity gaps.
