Job DescriptionMay be asked to teach days, evenings, hybrid/online and in the dual enrollment program. Online/hybrid teaching requires additional campus-based training.
Special RequirementsThe award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.
Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.
All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions.
Evaluations of foreign degrees and/or course work are required.
Evidence of degree conferred/awarded must be printed on a legible transcript.
Minimum QualificationsMaster’s in fine arts, art, or art history
OR Bachelor’s in any of the above
AND Master’s in humanities
OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area;
OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

It does not refer to the “Master of Fine Arts” (MFA) degree when that degree is based on specialization in performing arts or dance, film, video, photography, creative writing or other nonplastic arts.)

Demonstrated success in helping arts students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
