EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additional college level coursework in library skills preferred. Must have an AA degree or higher; or completed at least 48 semester units at an institution of higher education; or pass an Assessment Test. Must have one year experience working in a library or instructional environment. Additional requirements for consideration include:
Knowledge of library practices, procedures and terminology. Knowledge of Dewey Decimal and card cataloging systems. Knowledge of library reference materials and resources. Knowledge of children's literature and district curriculum. Ability to provide library services relating to the acquisition, circulation, distribution and recovery of library books, and instructional materials. Ability to assist students and teachers in the selection and location of library materials.
