Senior Electrical Estimator – K-12 Projects

A well-established electrical contractor in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator with strong K-12 / public school construction experience
. This role leads complex public works bids, mentors junior estimators, and works closely with project management and operations teams to secure profitable work in the education sector.

• Prepare detailed, accurate electrical estimates for K-12 school projects
  , including modernization, additions, and new campus construction.
• Perform advanced quantity takeoffs for power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Analyze drawings, specs, and DSA documentation to ensure full scope coverage.
• Identify risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities.

• Lead bids involving DSA-regulated projects and California public works requirements.
• Ensure compliance with prevailing wage, DIR, and public bid procedures.
• Develop bid packages, scope sheets, and clarifications.

• Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Lead internal bid reviews and handoff meetings with project management.
• Support change order pricing during construction.

• Mentor junior estimators and support team development.
• Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases.
• Interface with general contractors, suppliers, and design teams.

• 7+ years of experience estimating for a commercial electrical contractor
• Strong experience with K-12 school projects in California.
• Knowledge of DSA processes and public works bidding
• Proficiency with Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam
  , or similar software.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction methods.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
