Senior Principal Infrastructure / Networking Engineer

Location:

Anaheim, CA, United States

• Design, develop, test, and deliver advanced high‑capacity systems that process modern communications.
• Guide and oversee system development and deployment, collaborating with R&D members.
• Generate briefings and present material to team members, customers, and management.
• Work autonomously yet collaboratively within a team environment.
• Travel up to 25% to other AST locations or customer sites.

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in system development and infrastructure/networking.
• Experience with Python or similar scripting languages; strong experience with Python.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux (Red Hat distributions) and enterprise‑grade networking equipment (Cisco, Arista, or Juniper).
• Experience with virtualization technology (KVM, VMware, Hyper‑V) and configuration management systems (Puppet, Ansible, Salt).
• Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP) and experience designing and setting up networks and data centers.
• Experience with system administration, verifying and validating software and system work.
• Active and transferable Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph clearance, and U.S. citizenship required.

• Experience with user interface development, object‑oriented programming, and enterprise‑grade storage equipment.
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems concepts and signal processing.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized systems.
• Experience with process improvement and automated system deployments.
• Existing TS/SCI with Poly (active within the last 24 months).
