Job Description

The Systems Engineer will focus on Integration and Testing (I&T) for a maritime program, performing formal verification, formal validation, and system-level integration. The role includes developing and supporting architectural drawings, design specifications, implementation instructions, test procedures, and test reports for a medium-power 1000-volt product used in mission-critical, safety-critical applications.

Responsibilities

* Perform integration and testing activities for complex maritime systems, ensuring reliable performance in mission-critical environments.

* Conduct formal verification and formal validation of system requirements and designs.

* Execute system integration tasks, including hardware and software integration, to confirm end-to-end functionality.

* Develop, document, and maintain detailed test procedures for system integration and verification activities.

* Prepare clear and comprehensive test reports that capture test results, issues, and recommendations.

* Support the creation and maintenance of architectural drawings and system design specifications.

* Produce implementation instructions that guide the deployment and configuration of system components.

* Utilize integration and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems to perform measurements and diagnostics.

* Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices, including the use of SysML and MBSE tools, to support system design and analysis.

* Work within an agile methodology framework to plan, execute, and iterate on integration and test activities.

* Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve integration issues and improve system reliability.

* Contribute to the continuous improvement of integration and test processes, tools, and documentation to support safety-critical product development.

Essential Skills

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related technical field.

* 4-8 years of related experience in systems engineering, system integration, and test.

* Hands-on experience with system integration and test for complex technical systems, preferably in a defense or safety-critical environment.

* Proficiency in integration testing, including planning, executing, and documenting test procedures and test reporting.

* Experience performing formal verification and validation of system requirements and designs.

* Working knowledge of DOORS or similar requirements management tools (preferred).

* Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and practices.

* Familiarity with SysML for modeling system architectures and behaviors.

* Ability to use integration and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and data acquisition systems.

* Ability to work effectively in an agile methodology environment.

* Eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

* Citizenship status that meets eligibility requirements for a U.S. security clearance.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Experience in the defense industry or with mission-critical, safety-critical systems.

* Working knowledge of MBSE tools such as Cameo or Magic Draw (preferred).

* Familiarity with verification software tools and workflows.

* Understanding of medium-power electronics and high-voltage systems, including products operating at approximately 1000 volts.

* Exposure to components such as MOSFETs and related power electronics concepts.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing integration and test issues.

* Clear, concise technical writing skills for specifications, procedures, and reports.

Work Environment
