American Equipment HR LLC (AmQuip Crane Rental) seeks a Mechanical Designer II to support crane and heavy lifting projects for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure clients. In this role, you will develop 3D models, 2D fabrication drawings, and mechanical layouts for lifting devices, rigging arrangements, and equipment modifications. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs that meet strict safety and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • D drawings for crane-related components, lifting devices, and mechanical systems.
  • Prepare fabrication and assembly packages including bills of materials, weld details, and tolerances.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to translate project requirements into safe, buildable designs.
  • Apply relevant industry codes, standards, and internal safety guidelines to all designs.
  • Perform basic mechanical calculations and checks to verify strength, stability, and fit-up.
  • Support design changes, redlines, and as-built documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with vendors and fabricators to ensure manufacturability and material compatibility.
  • Participate in design reviews and safety reviews for complex lifting and rigging projects.
