Onboard Systems Inc seeks a Configuration Management Manager to lead CM activities for helicopter external load equipment within our Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management team. You will own product configuration control, change management, and documentation standards across the product lifecycle to ensure safety, compliance, and traceability. Partnering with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, you will manage baselines, BOMs, and ECNs in our PLM/ERP systems, develop and enforce CM policies, mentor CM staff, and support audits for defense, aerospace, and regulatory requirements in a culture focused on innovation, safety, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead configuration management strategy and execution for helicopter external load equipment
- Own change control processes, including ECR/ECN review, approval, and implementation
- Maintain accurate product baselines, BOMs, and configuration records in PLM/ERP systems
- Develop, document, and enforce CM policies, procedures, and standards
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure configuration integrity
- Support internal and external audits related to aerospace, defense, and regulatory CM requirements
- Monitor CM metrics, drive continuous improvement, and resolve configuration discrepancies
- Supervise, mentor, and develop CM staff or coordinators
- Ensure documentation accuracy, revision control, and traceability across the product lifecycle
- Interface with program management to support schedules, risk mitigation, and customer requirements
Required Skills
- Configuration management (CM) processes and tools
- Product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
- Engineering change control (ECN/ECR)
- Bill of materials (BOM) management
- Aerospace/defense documentation standards
- AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
- ERP/MRP systems for engineering data
- Technical drawing and specification interpretation
- Defense/aerospace regulatory compliance (e.g., ITAR)
- Data and document management/version control
