As the Structural Discipline Lead to provide technical leadership, operational support, and project oversight for the Structural Department. This role combines advanced technical expertise with people leadership, helping drive project execution, staff development, resource planning, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across the practic
e. Responsibili t- ies:
Technical Leadership:
Serve as the technical leader for the Structural Department. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, reviewing their work and fostering their professional develo - pment.
Project Management:
Provide executive oversight for major or high-risk projects, ensuring technical quality, schedule performance, profitability, and client satisfaction. Maintain accountability for project profitability, schedule performance, resource utilization, and client satisfaction across the Structural Depar - tment.
Business Development:
Develop and maintain strategic client relationships, support proposal preparation, fee development, interviews, and business development efforts, and identify opportunities for repeat business and department g - rowth.
Department Operations:
Establish and maintain department engineering standards, design procedures, and QA/QC practices. Coordinate staffing and resource allocation across the department. Monitor department utilization, workload forecasting, and project performance. Work with operations leaders across departments to improve efficiency, processes, and project del - ivery.
Code Expert:
Resolve challenging engineering issues and provide guidance on code interpretation and engineering jud - gment.
Quality Assurance:
Maintain accountability for department QA/QC processes by reviewing complex engineering calculations, drawings, and technical deliverables while ensuring consistent engineering standards across all pro - jects.
Innovation:
Champion continuous improvement through implementation of new engineering technologies, workflows, automation tools, and design methodologies that improve efficiency and qu - ality.
