Silhouette Artist - Part Time

Do you have the unique talent of hand‑cutting silhouette portraits and bringing art to life right before a Guest’s eyes? Would you enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment where creativity, conversation, and storytelling come together to create one‑of‑a‑kind keepsakes? If so, we are looking for Silhouette Artists at Disneyland® Park.

Our Silhouette Artists create timeless treasures that have been part of Disneyland® Resort traditions for generations of families. In this role, you will combine artistic skill, speed, and showmanship to craft accurate silhouette portraits by hand, all while engaging Guests and helping create memorable experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Render an accurate likeness of a Guest’s silhouette portrait free‑hand using paper and scissors in front of Guests.
  • Produce multiple silhouette portraits in a short period of time while maintaining quality, accuracy, and conversation.
  • Create single and multi‑person silhouette portraits, as well as silhouettes of animals such as dogs and cats.
  • Share the art and history of silhouette portraiture as part of the Guest experience.
  • Demonstrate the full creative process, including preparing and applying paste to the display paper.
  • Create Disney character silhouettes alongside Guest portraits upon request.
  • Provide exceptional Guest service by greeting Guests, offering assistance, and helping create a welcoming and engaging experience.
  • Support overall location needs, including transactions, product knowledge, and teamwork as needed.
Basic Qualifications

Please provide examples of your silhouette work. Submit at least two samples from each of the following categories:

  • Single‑person silhouette, featuring an adult or child.
  • Double silhouette, featuring two different individuals in one cut‑out.
  • Silhouette of a dog or cat.

Please provide a URL where these samples can be viewed.

We appreciate the creativity and experience reflected in a general art portfolio. For this opportunity, we are specifically requesting examples of hand‑cut silhouette work so we can assess your current skills and experience in relation to the requirements of the role. General art portfolio examples are not needed for this application.

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role.
  • Proven experience cutting and drawing free‑hand silhouette renderings with scissors.
  • Must be able to produce a single silhouette portrait within 90 seconds.
  • Ability to create on average 60‑100 silhouettes within a shift.
  • Must be able to produce detailed, quality silhouette portraits.
  • Must be able to multitask; can produce silhouette while engaging with Guests.
