Role Description The Lead Usher is a full-time, on-site role based in Anaheim, CA, responsible for overseeing guest seating and flow during events and daily operations. This position coordinates ushering teams, assigns and monitors sections, and ensures that guests receive accurate guidance to entrances, seats, and facility amenities. The Lead Usher responds to guest inquiries and concerns, supports crowd management and safety procedures, and collaborates with event and security staff to maintain a welcoming and orderly environment.

Day-to-day tasks include briefing ushers before events, confirming readiness of seating areas, assisting with accessibility needs, and providing clear communication to both guests and team members. The role also includes helping with post-event exit procedures and providing feedback to management on guest experience improvements.

Qualifications

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and event staff.
  • Demonstrated Ushering experience, including managing seating, crowd flow, and venue navigation.
  • Customer Service skills with a focus on creating a welcoming, respectful, and solution-oriented guest experience.
  • Familiarity with Performing Arts or live events environments, including theatres, arenas, or other performance venues.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate small teams, provide clear instructions, and support performance standards.
  • Comfort with standing and walking for extended periods, and assisting with basic crowd control and safety procedures.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, events, or venue operations is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent recommended.
