Job Title: Event Technician
Pay Details: Starting hourly rate $24.00 per hour. Pay range $24.00–$49.00.
Location & Role Overview: The position is primarily part of the live event presentation crew at Honda Center in the broadcast/control room and in‑arena environments focusing on hockey, basketball, and other live events. The Event Tech will work at least one or more of the following positions:
Control Room Director, Technical Director (Ross Switcher), Camera Operator, Camera Shader, CG – Ross Xpression, Daktronics Show Control, Ross Inception/Tagboard, Evertz Dream Catcher Audio – Yamaha CL5 Board Operator/QSC/MADI/Dante/Riedel Comm, Control Room Utility/Media Manager/Triple Play-IPTV, Hockey Statistics Production Assistant, ENG Camera Op/Producer, Stage Manager, Video Editor, Motion Graphics Designer.
- Provide hands‑on support for live sporting events, including Daktronics ribbons and scoreboard, audio booth, broadcast control room, Triple Play’s IPTV system, and stage manager duties.
- Assist the Entertainment Department with planning and execution of live promotions, events, and activities.
- Participate in rehearsals (sound check, communication device check, camera set‑up, playlist/scripts review, and all pre‑game checks).
- Coordinate with contestants, Ducks Power Players, Ice Crew, staff, hosts, mascots, promotional teams, and additional talent for proper execution of all live elements, including opening introductions, in‑game promotions, intermission activities, ceremonies, color guard, and additional performers.
- High School diploma or equivalent;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a live broadcast or live sports environment, TV/Film production, live event management, or related field.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following:
Ikegami HDK‑95C cameras, Ross Acuity 3, Ross Xpression, Ross Inception, Evertz Dream Catcher, Daktronics Show Control & Venus 7000, Yamaha CL5 audio board, and Triple Play. - Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willing and able to learn additional positions and cross‑train when possible.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team‑oriented and creative environment.
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays as required.
