Accountant, Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of GAAP, and experience with various accounting software. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting financial reporting, compliance, and analysis across multiple sectors including corporate, non-profit, and governmental accounting. Temp to hire Located in Anaheim, CA Offering $25-30/hr.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Manage general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and journal entries using accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, or Xero
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Perform financial report writing and interpretation to support management decision-making
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to optimize cash flow and financial performance
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other regulatory reporting standards
• Support internal audits and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of securities law, tax regulations, Wills, trusts & estate law as applicable to client portfolios or organizational needs
• Mentor junior staff members in technical accounting procedures and best practices
• Collaborate on special projects related to corporate finance, private equity investments, or government contracts

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
• 2-3 years of proven experience as Accountant or closely related role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage, Xero, People Soft, or similar platforms, Nav Dynamics 365 preferred
• Familiarity with financial analysis tools including Microsoft Excel (advanced skills), or other financial software applications
• Ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform detailed account analysis
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Strong communication skills for financial report writing and presentation purposes
• Demonstrated mentoring abilities and a collaborative team approach
