The CFO will oversee everything from daily funding reconciliation, broker commission payments, banking operations, and warehouse line follow-up to NMLS reporting, servicing financial operations, and HR/payroll administration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage broker commission payments and monthly brokerage incentive payments
  • Manage origination‑related vendor payments and administrative expenditures
  • Lead banking operations, including daily multi‑account review, journal reconciliation, Positive Pay administration, wire/ACH activity, and bank payment processing
  • Manage loan‑purchase financial follow‑up before and after purchase
  • Prepare period‑end journal reconciliations and financial statement closings
  • File quarterly NMLS Call Reports
  • Submit financial statements to NMLS, warehouse lenders, and investors upon request
  • Oversee servicing financial operations, including payment collection, borrower statement mailing, payment deposits, transfer/goodbye letters, and delinquent account follow‑up
  • Manage TPO/broker onboarding financial workflows, including application review, broker portal setup, welcome packages, and NMLS follow‑up
  • Manage payroll processing for W-2 and 1099 employees
  • Oversee payroll bookkeeping, PTO/leave tracking, employment administration, employment verification administration, 401(k) contributions, health insurance enrollment, and monthly premium payments
  • Work closely with CEO/ownership, operations/funding, warehouse lenders, broker relations, loan officers, investors, vendors, and external auditors
  • Build scalable financial processes as the company grows
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of mortgage finance/accounting experience
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Prior CFO, VP of Finance, or Controller experience at a mortgage lender, TPO/wholesale shop, or similar financial institution preferred
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of mortgage lending accounting, warehouse line operations, and NMLS regulatory financial reporting
  • Hands‑on experience with Quick Books and loan origination systems such as Byte or similar
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with banking platforms, Docu Sign, NMLS system, and payroll platforms
  • Expertise in TPO/wholesale lending financial workflows, broker commission structures, and investor reporting
  • Strong banking operations background, including Positive Pay systems, multi‑account reconciliation, and wire/ACH management
  • Experience managing payroll, benefits administration, 401(k), health insurance, and HR financial functions
  • Experience with NMLS Call Reports and state‑level regulatory filings preferred
  • Servicing portfolio management experience preferred, including payment collection, escrow, and delinquency follow‑up
  • Highly detail‑oriented with the ability to manage daily, monthly, and quarterly deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable operating across accounting, servicing, TPO, and HR functions
  • Self‑starter who can work with minimal supervision and scale processes as the company grows
