Duties
* Serves as an Investigative Services Specialist within the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Headquarters, Office of General Counsel, Investigative Services (OIS) Division, Investigative Services Branch

A.
* Provides contract investigative service and technical assistance to various investigative agencies including the Department of Defense Inspector General (DoDIG), Department of Justice (DoJ), U.S. Attorneys Offices and criminal investigative agencies.
* As technical expert, handles major complex and sensitive cases where Suspected Irregular Conduct (SIC) or potential fraud has been identified. Assists with complex applications using various data analytic software.
* Provides ongoing technical guidance on behalf of the Branch to subordinate team(s) on a variety of complex technical matters regarding investigations.
* May serve at times as the OIS Point of Contact (POC) on behalf of the Branch or OIS Division at various conferences, meetings, and/or discussions with representatives from with the investigative agencies to discuss pertinent areas under OIS purview. All selectees will be subject to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). You must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the Top Secret level. Qualifications You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, http://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). This position has a positive education requirement. You must submit proof of education or of certification to be considered for this position. To qualify for this position you must meet one of the basic requirements described below:
Degree: accounting or a related field (such as business administration, finance, or public administration) that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours (or 36 quarter hours) in accounting (may include up to 6 hours of business law). OR Combination of education and experience: 4 years of accounting experience or a combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge AND 24 semester hours (or 36 quarter hours) in accounting/auditing courses or a certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor.

Specialized

Experience:

In addition to meeting the basic requirements, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience is defined as: independently performing complex audit or investigative services assignments as a lead or senior auditor; OR preparing comprehensive risk assessments and developing plans to address unique and complex situations;

OR examining accounting data and contract terms to ensure compliance with federal regulations, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS); OR preparing well-documented work papers and communicating with the investigative community to present findings. Experience:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education Substitution of Education for Specialized

Experience:

There is no substitution of education for experience at this grade level. FOREIGN

EDUCATION:

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying or prior to appointment as outlined above.
* Qualifying education from colleges and universities in foreign countries must be evaluated in terms of equivalency to that acquired in U.S. colleges and universities.
