Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary:
This position reports directly to the Controller with a dotted line to the Assistant Controller. The incumbent manages and coordinates all medical center payroll activities and is responsible for the implementation and management of the time and attendance system for the organization as well as the SOM. Provides consultative services to medical center departments and to the management team as necessary.

Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to communicate using a variety of methods with all levels of staff and with external agencies
- Proven ability to work independently and follow through with minimal direction
- Proven ability to analyze information or situations, define problems, identify relevant factors, formulate recommendations for action, present alternatives verbally or in writing, and effectively implement recommendations
- Previous management/supervisory experience
- Demonstrated skill with computer software including excel, word, outlook and other electronic databases.
- Demonstrated skill to process payroll
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge of time and attendance as well as payroll processing software
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical center/healthcare system payroll processing policies, procedures and governmental regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill to develop payroll analyses and audits
- Degree or equivalent education and/or directly relevant experience
- Knowledge of university sponsored benefit programs
- Experience with UC Payroll/Personnel online systems for data entry, inquiry and input
