Desktop Support Specialist Octagon Consulting LLC
• Anaheim, CA, US
JOB LOCATION:
Anaheim/Corona, CA
- Manage Help Desk requests, providing frontline support for all end‑user computing issues.
- Install and configure all end‑user Windows desktops and laptops, maintaining current corporate standards through repair and upgrade.
- Administer and maintain user accounts, security groups, and access permissions in Microsoft Active Directory, ensuring accurate provisioning, deprovisioning, and compliance with organization policies.
- Install and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and other end‑user equipment using current corporate standards.
- Install and configure end‑user software using current corporate standards, including new releases, system upgrades, patches, and evaluations.
- Support and maintain IT policies and procedures to ensure industry and company compliance.
- Submit PO requisitions for equipment as needed.
- Manage and maintain IT inventory, ensuring accurate tracking, timely updates, and proper documentation of all hardware and software assets.
- On‑call and weekend hours may be required.
- Fast learner with strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and follow‑up skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills (essential).
- Professional, courteous, friendly demeanor and exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to work in an extremely fast‑paced environment with varying duties assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of study preferred or equivalent combination of education, certification, and job experience considered.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience preferred.
- Preferred combination of CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certifications.
- Experience with remote support tools and basic networking concepts.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools and ticketing systems.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, and endpoint security practices.
- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop environments, hardware troubleshooting, user account management, and software installation.
